• We Caved! Shouts of Glee for the Fung Ba-by

So, we had our 20 week doctors appointment on Tuesday.  We are at the halfway mark.  We had toyed with the idea of finding out the sex and decided we would NOT find out but asked the tech if she could please place the “results” in an envelope and we could open at a later time if we couldn’t take it anymore.

As we saw the baby moving, with what seemed to be limited space in there, the tech mentioned something about a “girl”.  Well, with that tiny little unexpected peep from her, we had to find out. It couldn’t be a girl, I’ve had 3 dreams it was a plump dark haired little boy.   I was quite sure it was a boy and I think I had convinced David that he would have a little football and fishing buddy.

Turns out IT’S A GIRL!!! Yup, that’s right, a girl FUNG!  Can you imagine!?!?!  David will still have his own fishing and football buddy-though I think his buddy will be dressed in pink and he will have to bait the hook :)

A pleasant surprise-and like the mothership told me yesterday “you have found a best friend for life”.   What could be better?  We are truly fortunate and so excited.

People have asked if the nursery decorating will change-no way!!!  Still,  khaki with black and white polka dots and just a touch of light pink (now that we know).

As we told people yesterday, there were shouts of glee that a little female fung baby is coming into the world.  It was almost like finding out we were pregnant all over again.  A little southern Chung with a twist of Jersey-this little girl is going to be something!!!

David’s dad probably had the most interesting response “oh…..ok, David, ok”.  I laugh just thinking about it.  He did go on to say “she will be Miss America” and Korean custom is that it is good luck to have a baby girl first.  I guess he’s already hoping there will be more :)

    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
