• 6 weeks today and Happy Memorial Day!

    Our apologies for not having submitted an update in quite some time…..as you can imagine, the days and the nights kind of blend together and when we have had the time to write, we have been so pooped that we have taken the opportunity to sleep instead….

    We celebrate Nellie’s 6 week birthday today! She is growing so fast that we can hardly keep up with her and it is just amazing to see the difference in her. She is doing very well with tummy time and has good neck strength and can hold her head up…at least for a few seconds at a time. She is cooing and making all kinds of funny faces….I swear that we could just stare at her for hours on end.

    Here are some pictures at one month – we wanted to get ones of her awake, but she had a particularly trying day that day with the visit to the doctor and getting her first vaccination – she was pooped!     Memorial Day weekend – this past weekend, Nellie made her first roadtrip to New Jersey…”over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house we go….” She made the car ride up like a champ and slept the entire 4 hours that we were on the road. We had a nice weekend despite some bad weather – rained the whole time – but we did manage to get some burgers and dogs on the grill and had a nice visit with Jersey girls – Laura and Sherry – as well as Erin’s brother Nate and his girlfriend Monica. This was the first time that Uncle Nate and Aunt Mo met Nellie and she seemed to like them :) The ride home was a bit more trying and we did have to make one pit stop when she decided to have a meltdown – Erin and I call her alternate personality NEELIE and wonder each night who we are going to have as our daughter – Nellie vs Neelie…we made a pit stop at the Grotto of Lourdes in Hyattsville, MD and walked through the gardens, said a prayer in the chapel, and are convinved that there was divine inspiration involved which resulted in a peaceful Nellie for the rest of the 2 hour ride home :)
